Ms. Laurie A. Dunne, BS, CPA, CIA

Ms. Dunne attended the University of Scranton and King’s College and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance. She began her career working as a Corporate Auditor for Litton Industries (Fortune 500), in Cranford, NJ for several years and subsequently worked for Loral Corporation (Fortune 500), in Manhattan, NYC.
She was hired as a Corporate Audit Manager of The Loewen Group and was employed here until the North Eastern location was closed and all operations were moved to the company’s headquarters. During her employment, she was responsible for hiring new auditors, assisting management with developing audit programs and strengthening internal controls, and conducting acquisition and fraud investigations. She was retained as a consultant for approximately six months until the transition to the parent company was completed. During this time, she was instrumental in assisting with the final wrap up and dissolution of operations.
Ms. Dunne worked as a consultant for various prominent public accounting and private staffing companies for several years in audit, tax, and accounting before accepting her current position as Member at John J. Heck & Associates LLC.
Some of her major accomplishments include the following:
- Executrix of a Million Dollar Estate of a former high net worth tax client
- Recovery of over $100,000 from Fraud Investigations
- Contributing Author to the Certified Management Accountant Exam
- Experience preparing Lease Abstracts for commercial real estate properties
- Experience preparing Offer-in-Compromise (OIC) for qualifying clients
- Recipient of an Outstanding Excellence in Journalism Award
- Diverse Accounting Experience in the following industries: health care, brokerage, cemeteries and funeral homes, defense, energy, and real estate.
- Professional services include preparation of Individual, Trust, and Business Tax Returns; Executrix Experience; Tax Research; and Small Business Services
Ms. Dunne has been a CPA since 1997 and obtained her CIA designation in 1999.
Outside work interests include horsemanship, botany, and farm animal rescue and rehabilitation services. She is an honorary Treasurer of the Delaware Valley Iris Society, and a volunteer at Valley Forge National Park – Equestrian Ambassador Program. Laurie manages a small, private Farm Sanctuary for chickens, based on availability at her Farm. She also rehabilitates and provides temporary housing to rescue horses in need of a quiet place to recover from abuse and neglect. All equine services are based on availability at her farm and are funded by the sponsoring organization.
